Day 2 Prayer and Fasting: The Church to be strengthened
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.” Psalm 28:6-8
We are a royal priesthood, a chosen nation, God’s special possession that we would declare his praises. (1 Peter 2:9) As followers of Jesus we have been entrusted with the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:19) We are his ambassadors – co-workers for the Gospel. We’ve been invited to sing a song about our faith, but many of us are singing the song of the world.
The Lord is the strength of his people. We come to a deep understanding of this when we spend time in prayer, scripture, and as we live life with one another. However, some of us are trying to find strength in political agendas, vaccines, relationships, social media, jobs, and the list can go on. Wherever we seek to find our strength, that will become our song. Our song as a church should be a unified song for Jesus, so others will desire to follow him.
Let’s pray for the people of the Church to find their strength in the Lord. Let’s pray for the church to be strengthened in every way.
