Day 5 Prayer and Fasting: For the lost to be found

For the Lost to be Found

Read Luke 15:1-10

Jesus stepped down from heaven as a living sacrifice for us to be found in Him. The last words of Jesus before he departed to heaven was to go and make disciples. (Matthew 28:19) We have been commissioned to teach others about Jesus.

We will not have a desire for the lost to be found if we are not spending time in scripture and prayer. It is from the time we are spending with Him that prompts our hearts to pray for encounters to share the love of Jesus. The lost are found in ordinary places like the grocery store, a neighbor, or a co-worker. Sometimes the lost we desire to be found is in our immediate family. God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) Do we?

Let’s pray for the desire for the lost to be stirred in us, so we can go help find the one. Let’s pray for the hearts of His people to be soft and ready to receive Jesus.

Let’s pray for the Lost to be Found.

Respond:

  • Do you have a desire for the lost to be found?

  • Do you believe that God desires for all people to know him?

  • Who are you sharing the gospel with? (This desire comes from the very place of spending time with Jesus)
