WHAT WE BELIEVE
GOD
We believe in one personal God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are equal in power, authority, and glory.
JESUS
Born of a virgin through the power of the Holy Spirit, he embodies both full divinity and complete humanity. He endured suffering and death for the redemption of our sins. Rising from the dead, he now resides alive at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who lives in every follower of Jesus. The Holy Spirit assures us of our salvation, guides us in truth, glorifies Jesus, and convicts us of sin. The Holy Spirit also comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and empowers us for service.
SALVATION
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
THE WORD OF GOD
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. We believe the Bible is without error.
WATER BAPTISM
The Bible teaches believers to through water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our belief in water baptism is grounded in the example set by Jesus himself. As recorded in the book of Luke, "When all the people were baptized, Jesus was baptized too. As he was praying, heaven was opened" (Luke 3:21).
COMMUNION
Communion represents the body that was broken on the cross and the blood that was shed. Christ is always present in our lives, and that is no different when we take communion. Jesus was present with His disciples at that first communion table, and His Spirit is still present with us every time we take communion.
MEET THE PASTORS
Pastor Mike Moore and his wife, Kristi, are two of the original founders of City Church - which began back in 2011 in the upstairs room of a bar in downtown Albany. Their vision was to create a space where all people could come and experience Jesus in a life-transforming way, a vision that remains true today. Their driving passion to see the local church unified to expand the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastors Mike and Kristi currently live just outside of Albany with their son Judah, and their daughter Allison.
